Frederkind had been positioned broadly as a general contractor, but the business had evolved beyond that story. Through research, market review, and a closer look at where the company consistently created the most value, a clearer position emerged: specialized subcontracting.
The repositioning touched everything. Strategy, language, digital presence, website, search, social, email, and the systems behind them were rebuilt around a more accurate picture of the company and what it does exceptionally well.
Built to
Own the Outcome.
-
Frederkind had the experience, capabilities, and reputation of a highly specialized construction partner, but its positioning was still telling a much broader story. The business was being presented as a general contractor when its strongest market position was more specific.
The opportunity was to identify the work Frederkind truly owned, understand where it had the greatest right to win, and reposition the company around specialized subcontracting, accountability, and execution.
-
The strategy began by narrowing the story.
Instead of trying to communicate everything Frederkind could do, the brand needed to become known for what it did exceptionally well: framing, drywall, concrete, EIFS/stucco, insulation, acoustical ceilings, and the ability to take responsibility for complex scopes from bid through completion.
That thinking shaped the new positioning, messaging, brand language, digital hierarchy, and customer experience around one central idea:
We own the outcome.
The goal was not simply to look different. It was to make Frederkind easier to understand, easier to find, and easier to trust.
-
This was a full repositioning, not a surface-level refresh.
The visible brand was rebuilt across the website, messaging, social presence, photography direction, collateral, and digital touchpoints. But just as importantly, the invisible infrastructure had to change with it.
A new domain was established. Email addresses were migrated. Website architecture was rebuilt. Metadata, page titles, descriptions, search language, indexing, Google Search Console, and SEO structure were reworked around the new positioning. Search presence, business profiles, and AI-facing information were aligned so Frederkind would be understood consistently by customers, search engines, and emerging discovery tools.
Because repositioning only works when the story changes everywhere the business is being read.
-
A brand can change visually while search engines, directories, metadata, old domains, and digital systems continue telling the old story. The work here was making sure the new position existed from the front end all the way through the infrastructure behind it.
My Role:
Brand Strategy · Brand Direction · Positioning · Messaging · Digital Strategy · Website Strategy · Search Repositioning · Brand Systems
This work is still unfolding.
As the repositioning continues, the brand will keep expanding across new touchpoints, systems, and experiences.
